Mistakes Happen

Nobody's perfect

Dread it. Run from it. Destiny arrives all the same.

Since this is an art blog, here is the artwork that caused all of the hubbub (I never get to use that word 😄) you're about to read.

It's beautiful right?

This past spring I was so excited to find a beautiful, ethereal rendition of Solange that I rushed to post it. I didn't research and assumed her Instagram handle would obviously start with @solange. Well, I posted it and then I received this comment😓
It may not seem that bad to you but I was mortified💀. My emotions ran all over the place. I panicked thinking about what other people would think when they saw my error pointed out. And then it had to be Solange of all people. Then I started wondering how many people saw the comment before I did. I thought about deleting the comment and correcting my caption like it was no big deal.

Somehow I calmed myself down enough to really think about my next actions. I chose to leave the comment that pointed out my mistake and reply:

Look at me guys. Cool as cucumber. Not! But I made a conscious decision to allow my inside feelings to catch up with my outward reaction of appearing to be calm.

The overall lesson I am learning (because airing out my mistakes still makes me super uncomfortable) is this:

Pencil Me In

I decided to feature only one artist for this article. Photo Credit: Pixabay Please allow me to introduce you to Temi Danso . I patiently wait for her "in progress" and finished shots because they are always worth it. Her IG feed is well-put together and pleasing to the eyes. I picked my top favorites to showcase her talent. 1. 💎Muse: @glowprincess Art Credit: @temi_danso 2. 💎Muse: Jackie Aina (Make-up 👑Queen) Art Credit: @temi_danso 3. 💎Muse: Jayde Pierce Art Credit: @temi_danso 4. 💎Muse: Zendaya Art Credit: @temi_danso 5. 💎Muse: @melvnin Art Credit: @temi_danso If you would like to see more, she also has a YouTube channel where you can watch her perform speed drawings and give tutorials.
